Barnes & Noble Cut Prices On Nook Tablet And Nook Color
Barnes & Noble will start shipping the new $199 Nook HD tablet. And the company has slahed the prices on last year’s Nook Tablet models to $179 (16GB) and $159 (8GB), and reduced the price of its entry-level Nook Color to $139. These tablets will be available throughout the holidays but not sure when they will be keep selling.
Previously we have reported that Barnes & Noble is taking the ebook fight to Amazon, Google and Apple with the unveiling of high definition Nook tablets. The eBook tablets are the $199 7-inch Nook HD tablet and the $269 9-inch Nook HD+.
The 7-inch Nook HD features a high-definition 1440 x 900 display, HD video playback of up to 720p, optical bonding technology with no air gap, 315 grams, 5-inches wide and 20% lighter and nearly a half-inch narrower than rival Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD.
The 9-inch Nook HD+ features a resolution of 1920 x 1280, HD video playback of up to 1080p, 515 grams, 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM, a 16GB model for $269 and 32GB model for $299.

Amazon Allow Kindle Fire Users To Block Ads For $15
Amazon has a change of heart over this weekend by changing pricing policy by allowing Kindle Fire HD users to pay $15 extra to turn off ads that are built into the devices.

With Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD, there will be a special offers opt-out option for $15. We know from our Kindle reader line that customers love our special offers and very few people choose to opt out. We’re happy to offer customers the choice.
Kindle Fire HD 7-inch is $200 and ships September 14. The Kindle Fire 8.9-inch will retail at $300 and ships November 20. And adding 4G, with LTE and 32GB storage for only $500. The device will feature an HDMI output for sharing content on a TV. And the display will be using no-gap lamination techniques and antiglare polarization to improve readability. The dual-antenna Wi-Fi antenna system should improve Internet speed and streaming-media quality.
Amazon is also going to release a smartphone that runs on Android OS 4.0 and Nokia Maps.

Amazon Goes After Apple With New Cheaper Kindle Fire HD
Amazon has unveiled new larger Kindle tablets to challenge Apple’s iPad. The Kindle Fire HD has to screen size, the large version has an 8.9-inch screen and the other a 7-inch version.

But the Kindle will not be able to compete with Apple when it comes to the number of downloadable apps.
Amazon acknowledged that it is not seeking to make a lot of money off the devices, saying it was more important to get consumers hooked on its vast library of music, e-books and movies.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite And Fire Shown In Ads
Amazon has shown ads during the NFL Kickoff for two new devices that appear to be the new Kindle Fire and Paperwhite Kindle e-reader. The new Fire appeared to have a camera and a larger bezel, or frame, around the screen.
Amazon is also going to release a smartphone that runs on Android OS 4.0 and Nokia Maps.
Kindle Paperwhite Leaked
A photo obtained by Verge shows that Amazon is getting ready to release the next version of Kindle called Kindle Paperwhite. The new device is suppose to have these features: higher contrast, high resolution, integrated lighting, and eight weeks of battery life.
Amazon is widely expected to unveil this new Kindles next week.
Barnes & Noble Reveals $139 Touchscreen Colour Nook
Barnes & Noble has unveiled a smaller and lower-cost Nook Simple Touch Reader in an effort to boost its share of the growing e-book market. The new e-reader features touchscreen capabilities, has a 6-inch display and weighs 35 percent less than the original version. The Nook Simple Touch Reader will retail at $139. Pre-order now and the wi-fi reader will ship to you for free on June 10th.
Kobo Launches eReader Touch Edition
Kobo is rolling out their eReader Touch Edition which features a thin and light form factor, touch screen and Reading Life, Kobo’s social experience so that you are able to earn awards simply through reading. The eReader retails at 129.99.

Apple Rejected Sony e-Reader App
Apple now requires all in-app purchases would now go through Apple. This would effectively cut off Amazon and Sony from selling their products through the app. The recent Sony app for their e-Reader has been rejected because of this.
Apple wanted to have a cut of the sales from Amazon and any other ebook sellers. Apple wants its 30 percent share of content sales whenever possible.
