Hulu may begin charging for some online content in the near future. The question is would you pay to use Hulu services? Would we see people deserting Hulu? The answer is yes, according to research people are not ready to pay.

This is due to people can already get the free content on their large screen TV through subscription or free to air TV. So why pay for something that runs on a desktop.

Recently, Hulu has made available a downloadable desktop version of its video Web site. It will provide access to Hulu content for a rich full screen video watching experience. The software is available on Windows and Mac OS X and it can be controlled via mouse and keyboard on your computer.

Amazon’s $359 Kindle 2 Cost $185 To Make

Market research firm iSuppli found that Amazon’s Kindle 2 retails for $359 but only costs $185.49 to build. That analysis did not include intellectual property costs, royalties, shipping costs, licensing fees, software development costs and marketing fees.

You will save some money if you already got the iPhone, is to get the free Stanza app.

Adobe is expected to extend Flash and Flash based applications to your TV by the end of 2009. This is a big opportunity for Adobe to get its software out there into living rooms.

Adobe has already extended Flash to the mobile market but Apple iPhone yet to embrace this piece of software due to using too much processing and battery power.

Pioneer the world’s fourth-largest maker of plasma televisions and Vizio Southern California company that sells inexpensive HDTVs have decided to pull the plug for their Plasma TV business. LCD makers are making bigger sets and consumers’ have a huge preference for LCD TVs. LCD outsells plasma by a 7 to 1 margin. Will we see the death of Plasma TVs, just like HD DVD? Time will tell.

Sony Kills Off Clam Shell Packaging

Sony Corporation Will Axe 8000 Jobs

Due to economic slowdown, the Japanese consumer electronics Sony Corporation, will cut 8,000 jobs worldwide and shut down 6 plants.

Kazuharu Miura, electronics analyst at Daiwa Institute of Research in Tokyo said, “This may mean that Sony is now back at square one,” said Kazuharu Miura, electronics analyst at Daiwa Institute of Research in Tokyo. Japanese companies are all in trouble because of this unexpected worldwide slowdown.”

Amazon is now selling factory refurbished wireless ebook Kindles for $329. New updated Kindles will be out in early 2009, and this is not a very good price reduction for a used Kindle. This used Kindles come with a 30 day return policy and one year warranty. If you simply cannot wait till next year, you can consider a reborn Kindle which will deliver before Christmas.
