Apple Signs More Nonexclusive iPhone Deals

Apple has signed agreements with service providers in Europe show that the company can deviate from its insistence on exclusivity. France Telecom’s Orange subsidiary will deliver the iPhone to 10 more countries later this year effectively quadruples Apple’s total addressable market. In Italy, Vodafone and Telecom Italia will market the iPhone. Will these deals affect AT&T exclusive contract in the US?

HTC 3G Diamond Touch Revealed

HTC has launched their 3G Windows Mobile smartphone Touch Diamond phone running Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and it has a touch screen for one hand use. The Touch Diamond includes customized applications for watching YouTube videos and using Google Maps for map and traffic data. The handset has a GPS receiver. Adobe Open Screen Project For Devices

Adobe lift restrictions and will not charge licencing fees for mobile versions of Flash. Adobe aimed at using its Flash and AIR technologies to create a consistent application interface across all devices like mobile phones, PCs or set-top boxes.
Emergency Alert Via Mobile Phones

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has adopted Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS) that would send sms alerts to people on their mobile phones in case of natural disasters and other emergencies. There are three kinds of alerts: presidential alerts; imminent threat alerts and child abduction emergency or Amber alerts. The service could be in place by 2010.
