Apple has revealed the new iTunes 10 and added a new music-oriented social network for following your favorite artists and friends called Ping. iTunes 10 also spotted with a new logo without the CD, Apple’s way of saying the CD era is dead.

iTunes Ping lets you post your thoughts and opinions, your favorite albums and songs, the music you’ve downloaded from iTunes, plus view concert listings and tell your friends which concerts you plan to attend. It also features AirPlay wireless music playback to listen to your music on remote speakers using Apple’s AirPort Express base station.

Apple has released security update patch 2010-005 for both Leopard and Snow Leopard Mac OS X. The security patch will fix maliciously crafted embedded font, maliciously crafted PDF file, vulnerabilities exist in ClamAV, disabling anonymous TLS/SSL connections, maliciously crafted PNG image in PHP, multiple vulnerabilities in PHP 5.3.1, and more.

Oracle, alleging that Google’s OS borrows from its Java technology, which Oracle acquired when it purchased Sun Microsystems this year. Oracle alleges that Google is still infringing on its patents even though Google has built Android using Java applications and frameworks that side-step Oracle’s intellectual property.

Microsoft has for years did not care about Apple products until they have seen the wake of rising sales for Apple’s computer. Microsoft has launched a new Windows 7 campaign to take on Mac OS X. The software giant thought it is a great idea to add a PC vs Mac tab on their Windows 7 website.

Why not add Windows has loads of security issues and by the latest update you know what I am talking about. How can using Windows 7 be more simple? Pathetic attempt on Microsoft. Apple has gone far ahead Microsoft in the mobile and tablet arena. That is where Microsoft should spend their money and not on PC.

Salesforce.com is accusing Microsoft of infringing on five of its patents, where Microsoft cloud and Windows 7 violate its intellectual property. The five patents are with the Windows Server AppFabric for installing and provisioning apps on Azure; Windows Live Services including Hotmail and SkyDrive storage; .NET; Windows 7; Server 2008 R2; and SharePoint products and technologies.

The patents cover dynamic multi-level cache, a method for provisioning services, Java object cache server for databases, error reporting and work sharing, and communication with a web site.

Apple has released version 10.6.4 updates for both Mac OS X and Mac OS X server. Busy week for Apple after announcing iPhone 4, Mac Mini and Safari 5.

From Apple, here are the features of the update:

• resolve an issue that causes the keyboard or trackpad to become unresponsive
• resolve an issue that may prevent some Adobe Creative Suite 3 applications from opening
• address issues copying, renaming, or deleting files on SMB file servers
• improve reliability of VPN connections

Microsoft has released Office 2010. Office Home and Student 2010, the most basic bundle of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote, will cost $150. The Home and Business edition, which includes Outlook, will sell for $279.99 and Office Professional, which also includes Publisher and Access, will go for $499.99.

Microsoft is also launching free Web-based versions of the four core Office programs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Google has done this for years on Google Apps.

Apple has previously posted a memo from Steve Jobs regarding Flash. In a nutshell, the Apple CEO says Flash is unreliability, insecure and has low performance. And he did not want developers to use Flash tools to develop sub-standard iPhone, iPad apps.

Now Adobe finally revealed that there is a critical flaw in Flash. The critical vulnerability could let attackers take control of people’s computers. No official patch to fix the problem yet.

Apparently Google also hates flash. From SFGate: Google, at the end of the day, also hates Flash. Running an all flash environment is SEO death. Flash websites are simply too complicated for Google’s spiders to actually understand. Google sees the internet primarily in text – flash, and other scripts are ignored.

Will we see the end of Flash soon? We think so, just like DOS, floppy disks and cassette tapes.
