A rare total solar eclipse threw a blanket of darkness over China and Russia on Friday. The path of darkness covered about 10,200 km with Russia seeing the longest full eclipse for 2 mins and 27s. The Chinese believed that any eclipse is branded as unlucky. With the Beijing Olympics starting in a week, they have called it the Olympic Eclipse hoping that it will bring good luck.
