Microsoft has finally revealed their new Xbox One console on May 21st with new design and interactive features at a special event held at its campus in Redmond. Microsoft has revealed the new console will feature new hardware, impressive graphics, connected interfaces and upcoming games. Technically, Xbox One has a 8-core AMD processor with x86 architecture, 8 Gb of RAM, a 500 GB hard drive, 3 USB 3.0 ports, and a Blu-Ray drive. It also features 802.11 n/g/b wireless with Wifi Direct and also Bluetooth.

The console will be on sale November 30 and it comes with a new controller. The new Kinect will be sold separately.

Sony has unveiled a new teaser trailer for its own next-gen console, the PS4 ahead of Microsoft’s announcement of XBox Infinity. Check out the video above. The end of the video indicates more details about the new PS4 on June 10.

What we know so far about PS4:
Sony President and COO Phil Molyneux confirmed that the the PS4 will be able to stream 4K movies. A typical 4K movie download will chew up more than 100 GB of bandwidth.

Sony has indicated that the new PS4 will allow users to download all games digitally like PS Vita. And also looking at a possible subscription model for video games.

Sony did not show what the new PS4 look like in the announcement but they did show off the new DualShock 4 controller for PS4. Sony has enhanced the feel of the controller joystick and the trigger button, which provides a much tighter sense of control over in-game actions. Sony also enhanced the rumble capabilities and reduced controller latency.

New features including a touchpad, share button, headphone jack, and a lightbar for simpler, more friendly identification of players. Also included a stereo camera that can sense the depth of objects in front of it.

Yahoo has agreed to buy the popular blogging service Tumblr for about $1.1 billion in cash. This purchase surpassing Facebook’s $1 billion purchase of Instagram last year.

Currently Tumblr host 180 million blogs and 217m global users in the past month.

Eight members of Congress officially demanded Google CEO Larry Page to address a range of privacy concerns about Google Glass.

Here is the content of the letter sent by the congress members:

We are curious whether this new technology could infringe on the privacy of the average American. Because Google Glass has not yet been released and we are uncertain of Google’s plans to incorporate privacy protections into the device, there are still a number of unanswered questions.

The team behind Google Glass defended it against privacy worries in a Google I/O by saying if you are recording from the glass you have to stare at the object. Charles Mendis, an engineer on the Glass team said “If you walk into a restroom and someone’s just looking at you — I don’t know about you but I’m getting the hell out of there.”

Google accidentally leaked out the new features of Google Maps during Google I/O this week. The new features are new graphics and dynamically learning maps that change to your needs the more you use them. Other features are smarter search, integration with Google Earth and Flight Search as well as a way to compare multiple modes of transportation.
