Google’s Antitrust Victory
The US Federal Trade Commission said Google had not violated antitrust or anticompetition laws in the way it arranges its search results. This is a major victory for Google after 2 years of investigation.
How did Google win the case? They did by applying lessons learned from Microsoft’s antitrust battle. Google argued “that technology is such a fast-moving industry that regulatory burdens would hinder its evolution”.
Microsoft is hitting the FTC with “weak” and “a missed opportunity” to halt what it called Google’s “ongoing harm to competition in the marketplace.”
