Microsoft has revealed a revamped, Facebook-friendly version of its free, online email service Hotmail and rebranding it Outlook. The biggest software company gave the new service a sharp new look, social network links and new features for handling junk and spam.

You can check this out now at outlook.com. Microsoft will soon add Skype call through Outlook.com in the next update.

Microsoft is going towards this new direction to counter Google’s Gmail, the fastest-growing rival, which now has about 31% of the market. Yahoo Mail is steady at 32%.
