MacBook Air Looks Good But Lousy Battery Life
AnadTech has tested the claims of Apple that MacBook Air has 5 hour battery life and found it to be over exaggerated. With wireless browsing and MP3 playback, the life was 4.27 hours, but under video playback combined with heavy Web browsing and downloading, the battery expired after 2.43 hours.
Anand Lal Shimpi wrote. “Short of Apple sticking a hydrogen fuel cell in the Air there was simply no way you were going to get 5 hours out of this thing under any sort of heavy usage. What shocked me even more is how few questioned the 5 hour figure. Have we all forgotten about optimistic battery life ratings?”
PC World found that the battery averaged at 2 hours and 31 minutes…which isn’t even enough juice to cover the flight time from San Francisco to Dallas, let alone get a road warrior clear across the continent with a powered laptop.

The computer is great. I have one and the battery life doesnt drain. Only if you are watching movies and listining to lots of music does it go down a bit. Who cares?! Most laptops batterys die if it isnt plugged in and you are watching a movie!

If I got one I would watch allot of movies and listen to music. I would try to plug it in as much as possible. But is there any way I could buy a better separate battery with a longer life?

It doesn’t really matter over time laptop battery’s get so weak that they cant even hold a charge for 30 minutes!!!

i think the mac book air looks very cool- it’s thin and slick fashion. my mom has a mac book pro. it is very cool. but now i think this one looks cooler. what do u think? i think the i phones are really cool too. lots of kids at my school have them.

I think the Macbook Air looks cool and I like the thin shape and how portable it is. Who cares about the battery life? My Ipod Nano barely lasts 1 hour.
