Apple Launched iPhone 3G For $199
Apple CEO Steve Jobs at WWDC 2008 has revealed the second-generation iPhone with new pricing and with 3G and GPS capabilities. An 8GB iPhone 3G will sell for $199 and the 16GB model will sell for $299, and will come in white and black versions. You can buy these iPhone 3G models on July 11.
What’s new? Firstly it has 3G networking, built in GPS, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support, iPhone 2.0 software, App Store, MobileMe for push email, calendar and contacts, and all the other features found on the first iPhone.
From press release, <em>“Just one year after launching the iPhone, we’re launching the new iPhone 3G that is twice as fast at half the price,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “ iPhone 3G supports Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync right out of the box, runs the incredible third party apps created with the iPhone SDK, and will be available in more than 70 countries around the world this year.”</em>

I WOULD LIKE TO BUY THE PHONE WITH 8GB BUT IT IS TOO EXPENSIVE IN INDIA.
AS YOU SAY THAT IT COSTS $199. I am ready to pay the price the only thing is that i stay in India and would like to know the total cost at which i could receive it. Please let me know how i can get it at this price as it is too expensive in India.

I am surprised to see all of you shocked with the price. This is exactly what was expected and by
the way iPhones features are revolutionary and the price is justified.iphone features is better than others,if i comare with
Nokia 95 or blackberry because the oyher markets which are
available with the same features or similar features were/are also priced very high. Eg Nokia E 90 @ >Rs.30000/- Nokia N 95
.Rs.25000, HTC Touch diamond @ Rs.27500/-, Samsung Omania @ Rs. 35 K plus, BlackBerry 8820 @32000.

Hi all
So, finally comapny understood mindset and problem of common man of not want to spend such a big amount of Rs. 31000/36000 to buy an iphone and made it available through EMI with tying up with few banks. I saw this info on iphone section of airtel site (http://www.airtel.in/iphone3g)
