Nielsen Online issued a report that said more individuals visit and utilize social networking websites and blogs rather than web based email. This new report indicates a change in the direction of the Internet and communication by its users.

Facebook remained the most popular social-networking destination around the world, and user attention raised by 566% since 2008.

John Burbank, CEO of Nielsen Online said, “While two-thirds of the global online population already accesses member community sites, their vigorous adoption and the migration of time show no signs of slowing.”
