Apple Axes Antivirus Website

Our recent article revealed an Apple support site that encourages installation of Antivirus software. From the site, Apple encourages the widespread use of multiple antivirus utilities so that virus programmers have more than one application to circumvent, thus making the whole virus writing process more difficult. This support site is now pulled down by Apple due to all the confusion it has caused to customers.

One of Apple’s marketing mantra is about Mac not needing Antivirus software. So it is ironic that Apple is now asking users to intall Antivirus software on a Mac. Apple now say that the reason why the page has been axed is because it was old and inaccurate.
