Apple may announce Mac OS X 10.6 code name “Snow Leopard” at next week’s WWDC which will be release in January 2009. Mac OS X 10.6 will not have major new features but it will have cleansed out all PPC codes and it will use 64-bit Intel only. The rumour is it will also integrate multi-touch feature to combat what is coming out of Microsoft Windows 7.

Seems odd that they would pump out another full point release only 9 months after their last one.

Oh well… it won’t work for me anyway as I’m still on PPC but if they do it, more power to em.

i really wish they WOULD NOT drop all the PPC code. I still use some PPC programs (especially Avid) & so fazing out the ‘unneeded code’ will hurt some pro users like myself. :( :(
