With a new female CEO from Google, Yahoo is spending more money into developing mobile apps as people spend more time consuming content on smartphones and tablets. The latest Yahoo Weather iPhone app looks quite good with the ability to show Flickr photo of weather locations. Microsoft Released Windows Phone 8 App
Microsoft has launched a Windows Phone 8 syncing app for Windows 8 and Windows RT today. The app is now available to download for free from the Windows Store. The app allows user to do easy syncing between Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 devices. The app will be useful when Microsoft launches Windows Phone 8 OS soon.

Apple Pushed Out Podcast App For iOS Devices
Apple has released a new standalone app for Podcast which is available for iOS devices running version 5.1 or later. It is a universal app for both iPad and iPhone.

Google has just updated its Google+ iPhone app that features crisper fonts, larger profile pics and a friendlier home-screen. In addition, Google make the stream easier to scan and easier on the eyes, with overlays, gradients and other visual elements.

Apple Rejected Sony e-Reader App
Apple now requires all in-app purchases would now go through Apple. This would effectively cut off Amazon and Sony from selling their products through the app. The recent Sony app for their e-Reader has been rejected because of this.
Apple wanted to have a cut of the sales from Amazon and any other ebook sellers. Apple wants its 30 percent share of content sales whenever possible.
