BMW Show Off New X4
BMW is unveiling in Shanghai auto show a new prototype BMW Concept X4 which is a compact SUV. It will have the distinctive kidney grille flanked by a pairs of LED headlights.
The BMW X4 will be built in Spartanburg, the production hub for BMW sport utilities. It churns out the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X3 models.
BMW Recalls 1.3 Million Cars
BMW is recalling mor than 1.3 million 5 Series and 6 Series models worldwide due to battery problem which could cause a fire. In rare cases this could result in owners not being able to start their vehicle. In extremely rare cases the electrical system could malfunction, leading to a scorching of the boot floor and a fire may result.
Owners of affected cars will be contacted in the coming weeks and asked to arrange a visit to their dealer.
BMW Ad Burns Brand Into Your Eyes
BMW is going to make you remember their brand by flashing a bright light that included their logo “BMW”.
The ad would instruct the audience to close their eyes and they would see BMW projected onto the backs of their eyelids.

BMW Uses Microsoft Surface For Product Navigator
BMW has released a video showing how they use Micorosft Surface for potential customers to configure a
BMW. Vectorform developed the interface using Microsoft Surface.
While we are at Web Direction South few months ago, a Microsoft representative showed us Microsoft Surface version 2.0 which is very impressive. A BMW video was shown where Microsoft Surface is used from design, production and sale.

BMW Pure Electric Mini E Car Revealed

BMW has revealed the full electric car called the Mini E with an estimated range of 150 miles or more. Around 500 Mini Es will be road tested in New York, LA and New Jersey where the recharging infrastructure is already in place.
The Mini E is powered by the latest lithium-ion battery technology to power a 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor. This power is coupled to a single-speed gearbox driving the front wheels with 162 lb ft of torque. The Mini E can accelerate to 62mph in 8.5sec.
