Apple Firmware 2.2 Adds Wireless Podcast Download

MacRumour has revealed some snapshots from German blog Schimanke.com that show iPhone Firmware 2.2 will have over-the-air downloads for both video and audio podcasts. The downloads will be limited to episodes less than 10MB in size when using the mobile network. This latest firmware will also add Google street views, Japanese emoji icons and more.

Apple iPhone Firmware 2.2 Supports Podcast Downloads
The latest revelation from the beta version of the iPhone firmware shows that Apple will provide direct podcast download feature. Now you know the reason why Apple has blacklisted podcast apps on the iPhone from third party developers.
With the new firmware update, users can access and download podcasts onto their devices via a “Get More Episodes” button from the Podcasts menu.
The beta version of the firmware is currently distributed to developers. So what new features will be added? Copy and paste? Landscape email? Video MMS? None of these feature will be included in the latest firmware.
What you will get are Google Street View, walking and public transportation routes in Google map, changes to mobile Safari, turn off auto correction and Japanese Emoji Icons.

PS3 Firmware 2.50 Adds New Audio Visual Improvements

Apple iPhone 2.2 Will Have Google Street View

Three significant features have so far been found in beta builds of iPhone Firmware 2.2 beta. They are Google Street View, Support for Japanese emoji icons and you can disable the iPhone’s auto-correction.

PS3 Firmware 2.43 For Japan Only

PS3 Firmware 2.43 is only for Japan PS3s, so do not download. From official PS3 blog, … if you manually initiate a firmware update by clicking on “System Update” under the XMB’s Settings icon, the v2.43 update will be available, regardless of where you are located. This update is released to introduce video download service for the Japanese PS3 Store.

Apple Releases iPhone Update 2.1

Apple on Friday delivered iPhone 2.1 Software Update which fixed call drops and truncated battery life, patches 8 security vulnerabilities including a code execution risk for mobile Safari and the previously disclosed passcode flaw. Apple Releases iPhone Firmware 2.0.2

Apple has released version 2.0.2 firmware for iPhone and iPod Touch. The 250Mb download is available via iTunes Store. But Apple did not reveal what they are updating. Users reported that the update improved typing lag, faster browsing on 3G, Apps now do not require updates and changes to transition from music list to Coverflow.
Sony PSP Firmware 4.05

PS3 Firmware 2.41 Is Now Out
It is now confirmed that PS3 Firmware 2.41 is now available for download. Firmware 2.40 was pulled late last week due to it breaking user’s PS3. So you don’t have to wait till mid week after all. Go get it.
The 2.41 firmware includes lots of cool features like in-game XMB and trophies, gamer profiles, Google search, and more.
