Apple Released Thinner iMac
Apple has made available the new thinner 21.5-inch iMac on the Apple Store. The new iMac features reduced reflection, faster processors and a new storage option called Fusion Drive. The 27-inch iMac will be available for order through the Apple Online Store and will begin shipping in December.
The new iMac is also very thin where Apple fused an aluminum and glass enclosure to merely 5 mm thin at its edge.
The new iMac also includes 8GB of 1600 MHz memory, a 1TB hard drive, third generation quad-core Intel Core i5 processors that can be upgraded to Core i7, and the latest NVIDIA GeForce graphics processors that deliver up to 60 percent faster performance.
Apple MacBook Pro 2012 May Not Be Thinner And No Retina Display
According to the poster on Chinese Forum, WeiPhone, the 15-inch MacBook Pro will not have the thin enclosure as for MacBook Air. The new MBP will have either 2.3GHz, 2.5GHz or 2.7GHz Ivy Bridge processors, a Nvidia’s GeForce GT 650M graphics card with 1GB GDDR5 graphics memory and no Retina Display.
So looks like in today’s WDDC 2012, Apple will announce a new MBP 15 inch which has the same look as the last version.
Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference will be on June 11 in San Francisco. Here is what we think Apple will reveal for WDDC 2012 on Monday:
- Thinner MacBook Pro 15 inch. More info about this below.
- Refreshed MacBook Air with retina display.
- iMac, Mac Pro and Mac Mini upgrades with Intel Ivy Bridge.
- Apple TV.
- iOS 6 without Google Map and replaced with Apple 3D Map.
The rumour of Apple releasing a new thinner MacBook Pro running Intel Ivy Bridge chipset is now more concrete with these leak specifications for 15 inch MBP:
- 0.74 inches thick and weighing 4.7 pounds (almost as thin as MacBook Air)
- four USB 3.0 ports
- 2560×1600 high-resolution Retina
- 16GB of 1600MHz DD3 RAM
- 750GB of hard disk drive space
- AMD Radeon HD 7770M graphics processor
- FaceTime HD camera
- Thunderbolt port
- Bluetooth 4.0
- SDXC card slot
- FireWire and Ethernet port.

Apple Will Release iMac With Touch Interface
Patently Apple has release some juicy info on the next generation Apple iMac having a touch interface. These people have dug out new patent from Apple that indicated how they are going to use Mac OS X and iOS to come up with a multitouch iMac.
The next cool feature is turning the iMac into a tablet:
For example, an accelerometer in the display could sense the force of gravity along an axis, and the measured force could be used to determine an angle of the display with respect to the ground (i.e. the plane perpendicular to the direction of the force of gravity). A transition between input modes could be performed when the vertical angle (tilt) of the display crosses a predetermined angle.
In another example, a rotation sensor could be mounted in an adjustable stand of the display. The rotation sensor could measure a rotation position of the stand, such as an angle between the base of the stand and a hinged arm that connects the base and the display. The measured rotation position could be used to determine the orientation of the display.
