Philips App Controlled Hue Light Bulb
Philips has started selling on the Apple App Store the Hue Light Bulbs which can be controlled on your iPhone and iPad. The light bulbs operate on the open zigbee standard with a starting price of $199 and comes with the wireless bridge and 3 LED bulbs. Additional bulbs can be had for $59/bulb. The wireless bridge in the starter pack will support up to 50 LED bulbs.

The hue bridge is where all the clever stuff happens. It’s the ‘bridge’ between your bulbs and your smart phone app. And it can link up to 50 bulbs at a time. To connect your bridge, first power up and then plug into the back of your wireless router, using the network cables provided. The blue lights go on one by one. When all four lights stay on continuously, you’re ready for action.
Apple Unveils New iPad Mini And iPad
Apple used the October 23 event to announced the new iPad Mini. The smaller iPad Mini features faster A6X chipset, Facetime HD camera, a 7.9-inch Multi-Touch retina display, iSight cameras, 10 hours of battery life. Apple today also announced the fourth generation iPad featuring a gorgeous 9.7-inch Retina™ display, new Apple-designed A6X chip, FaceTime HD camera and ultrafast wireless performance. Both iPad mini and fourth generation iPad come with iOS 6.

Apple Event For October 23 Hints At iPad Mini
Apple has given press invitations to an October 23 event that might announce the Ipad Mini.
The invitations indirectly referenced something small is coming with “We’ve got a little more to show you”.
We already know that Apple is planning to launch a mini iPad with a 7.85 inch screen. The Samsung official commented that Apple is expected to buy about $11 billion in total components and some of it is for the smaller iPad. The new, mini iPad is rumored to be priced at either $249 or $299 to compete with the $199 Amazon Kindle Fire.
Microsoft will also be releasing Surface later this year.
Apple To Pay For Copying Swiss Clock Design
The Swiss Federal Railway service, or SBB, is not happy with Apple ripping of the design of their clock for the new iOS 6 clock app found on iPad. Apple won $1.05 billion in damages from Samsung recently due to Samsung copying Apple’s icon designs. Well now we are seeing Apple doing the same.
Apple and the Swiss Federal Railway have reached an agreement on the use of the station clock design on certain devices such as iPads and iPhones. This arrangement has been mutually agreed by both parties in a license agreement.

Apple has reportedly bought up 10 million panels for its iPad mini 7 inch tablet. A unnamed Taiwan Apple suppliers have received the large orders from Apple for the tablet screen. The iPad mini will not have retina display thus having a lower resolution screen than that of the standard iPad.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Ban Lifted In The US
Samsung should be happy to know that the temporary sales ban on Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in the US has been lifted by a US court. The ban was put in place after Apple claimed the device infringed its intellectual property.
The jury found that Samsung had not violated Apple’s patent that was the basis for the ban on the sale of the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
The WiFi-only 16Gb Honeycomb tablet will sell for $499 and the32Gb model will sell for $599. This version will feature Android version 3.1 Honeycomb, 2 cameras, TouchWiz UX, Samsung’s Media Hub and additional capabilities when the tablet’s connected to a TV via a dock or adapter.
