With a new female CEO from Google, Yahoo is spending more money into developing mobile apps as people spend more time consuming content on smartphones and tablets. The latest Yahoo Weather iPhone app looks quite good with the ability to show Flickr photo of weather locations. Flipboard 2 Let You Create Your Own Magazines
Flipboard app for iOS iPhone and iPad has been updated to version 2.0 which allow users to curate articles and placed them on their own magazine. Users click on a new plus icon to add into their personal magazine. You can then share your magazine with your friends or leave it private. Android users will be able to read magazines iOS users create, but won’t be able to create their own.
Here is what is new:

Apple iOS 6.1.3 Fix Revealed Another Screen Lock Flaw
Apple’s recent release of iOS 6.1.3, which fixed the lock screen issue, another lock screen flaw was revealed. Check out video. The new iPhone unlocking flaw involves turning off Siri, messing around with Voice Control and ejecting the SIM. The iPhone can then make calls without the passcode being entered and the address book is accessible.
Apple Developing Cheaper iPhone Model
Apple is said to be developing a cheaper version of the iPhone with less-expensive components that could cost half as much as its latest smartphone. This is an attempt to compete with Samsung and increase sales in Asia.
The budget iPhone is scheduled for launch in the second half of this year. Will this damage Apple’s premium brand at this low price-point?

Delta iOS App Sued For Not Having Privacy Policy
Delta is being sued by the state of California for not having a privacy policy stated in the app’s Terms of Service. Delta’s app is facing up to a $2,500 fine for each download.

The California Online Privacy Protection Act requires commercial operators of websites and online services, including mobile and social apps, which collect personally identifiable information from Californians to conspicuously post a privacy policy. Privacy policies are an important safeguard for consumers. Privacy policies promote transparency in how companies collect, use, and share personal information. If developers do not comply with their stated privacy policies, they can be prosecuted under California’s Unfair Competition Law and/or False Advertising Law.
Facebook Updated iOS App With New Messeges Feature
Facebook has just released an updated iOS app version 5.1 that incorporates some features first seen in its standalone Camera and Messages apps.

Sony Released Reader App For iOS
Sony finally launched its own Reader app on iOS for iPad and iPhone devices. The app let you access all books purchased through the Sony Reader store, or even those contained within a Sony Reader library.
DRM books purchased for Sony Reader will allow users to read those books from any iOS device running version 4.3 or later.

Philips App Controlled Hue Light Bulb
Philips has started selling on the Apple App Store the Hue Light Bulbs which can be controlled on your iPhone and iPad. The light bulbs operate on the open zigbee standard with a starting price of $199 and comes with the wireless bridge and 3 LED bulbs. Additional bulbs can be had for $59/bulb. The wireless bridge in the starter pack will support up to 50 LED bulbs.
