Skype App For iPhone
The free Skype app for iPhone and iPod Touch will be available for download from the iTunes App Store sometime after Tuesday. You can use it to make calls and send instant messages to other Skype users for free, and you pay to call landlines or other mobile phones.
Apple will impose some restrictions on how you make calls, only WiFi but not data networks.
Facebook Connect Debuts For Apple iPhone
Facebook Connect was revealed at South By Southwest Interactive Festival in Austin. Facebook Connect allows Apple iPhone and iPod Touch users to share data between Facebook and third party applications.
Facebook senior platform manager Dave Morin said, For the first time, your iPhone apps can now have friends. I can pull out my iPhone and play it not only my other friends with iPhones, but I can also play with my mom—she can join in and play with us on her computer.
Tap Tap Revenge, a popular iPhone game, utilise Facebook Connect to publish users high scores in their Facebook news feeds. Other iPhone/iPod Touch apps using this connection are Agency Wars, Binary Game, iBowl, Live Poker, Urbanspoon, Who Has the Biggest Brain?, and Whrrl.
Jajah Turns Your iPod Touch To A VOIP Phone
Jajah has released a new app that transform your second-gen iPod touch to a VOIP phone. To use the service, end users only require an iPod touch and a Wi-Fi connection, with no need for a SIM card or contract. Read full press release after the jump.
Apple’s 2nd Generation iPod Touch
Apple finally revealed today the second generation iPod Touch which features thin contoured metal design, a 3.5-inch widescreen glass display, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi wireless networking, integrated volume control buttons, a built-in speaker for casual listening, a built-in accelerometer and other advanced sensors, and Multi-Touch user interface. The new iPod touch is available for $229 for the 8GB model and $299 for the 16GB and $399 for the 32 GB model.

Dexter Coming To Your iPhone
Showtime Networks and Mark Ecko Entertainment will bring a new iPhone game based on popular TV forensic scientist and serial killer Dexter. Game will appear on iPhone and iPod Touch episodically. You will use gesture control to play the game as revealed at Comic Con.

Google Talk Now On iPhone and IPod Touch
Google has now added it’s instant messaging application, Google Talk, to iPhone and iPod Touch. When you launch www.google.com/talk on the device you will see a strip down version. You will have to access this through Safari browser.
