LG has announced the white Google Nexus 4 smartphone and it will be released on 29 May. The smartphone will debut in Hong Kong first before it’s released in Asia, North America, the Middle East and Europe. The mobile will feature a 1,280 x 768-pixel 4.7-inch IPS display, a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and stock Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

LG commenced selling a 55-inch OLED TV in South Korea that uses new display technology for $10,000.

The model featuring organic light-emitting diode, or OLED, technology is currently only available in Seoul, South Korea. LG will expand sales to North America, Europe and other Asian markets during the next three months. OLED technology uses less power than LCD displays and displays more vivid images. And costing more than double the average for an equivalent LCD set.

LG Laser TV Projector For 100 Inch Screen

LG has announced their ‘Hector’ laser TV projector which can create a 100 inch screen image from only 22 inches away. It can deliver a 1080p image, comes with the screen and it has a digital tuner, and 10W speakers built in.

The Hector projector features three HDMI input ports, an RS 232 port and Smart TV capabilities controlled by the LG Magic Remote. It cand deliver a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio with WiDi and Miracast compatibility. The laser system will run for 25,000 hours without needing replacement.

LG Unveil Two Google TVs For 2013

LG has unveiled two brand new Google TV devices for 2013, GA7900 (55-inch, 47-inch) and the GA6400 (60-inch down to 42-inch). The TVs will be available in sizes ranging from 42” up to 60”.

These TVs will have QWERTY motion remote controls with an integrated mic for “natural” voice commands. Passive Cinema 3D will also be part of both models.

The top-of-the-line GA7900 features an edge-lit LED with local dimming and a 240Hz refresh rate. And the GA6400 is simply edge-lit and includes a lower 120Hz refresh.

Google TV will run on Honeycomb 3.2 OS, which enables users to use tablet and smartphone apps on their TV.

Google and LG have announced the Nexus 4 smartphone which runs on Android 4.2. The phone will feature Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon processor, 3G connection using GSM and HSPA+ technology. The 8GB and 16GB of the smartphone unlocked will sell for $299 and $349, respectively on November 13 in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Germany, France, Spain, and Australia. End of Novemeber in Europe, Central/South Americas, Asia, and the Middle East.

LG Launches Optimus G Phone

LG will start selling the Optimus G smartphone in korea next week. The handset features the new Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 APQ8064 quad-core processor, a 4.7-inch 4.7 WXGA (1,280 x 768 pixels) screen size, an embedded 2,100mAh battery that has a longer lifespan of 800 cycles, 8MP camera and more. This phone will be out in the US this coming October.

Samsung, LG, Sony Showing Off Google TV

Three giant TV makers, Samsung, LG and Sony are working on Google TV. Google powered TV will be shown at the consumer electronics show (CES) next week at Las Vegas.
LG will come with passive Cinema 3D capability and 2D to 3D conversion on the fly.

Google TV allows users to access the Internet on TVs, using its popular Chrome browser. In addition, it allows users to search a pay-TV provider’s listings and offers about 150 apps to shuttle people to digital media.

Panasonic, LG To Release Skype Ready HDTV

Skype is partnering with LG and Panasonic to release high-definition TV that is capable videoconferencing for home users by June. FaceVision and In Store Solutions SL will provide the high-definition Web camera for the service.

Skype on the Panasonic VIERA CAST-enabled HDTV delivers many familiar Skype features including:

  • Free Skype-to-Skype voice and video calls
  • Calls to landline or mobile phone at Skype’s low rates
  • The option to receive inbound calls via a user’s online Skype number
  • Skype voicemail, if you have it set up
  • Being invited to participate in voice conference calls with up to 24 other parties

LG has revealed the LG GW620 as the company’s very first Android smartphone. The LG GW620 will appeal to first-time smartphone users by offering a new and different kind of user experience.

The phone will feature: 3 inch TFT touchscreen display with the usual (for Android) 320 x 480 pixels resolution, Quad-band GSM connectivity (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), HSDPA 2100, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, Stereo FM radio and 5MP autofocus camera.
