Apple’s Mountain Lion Passed 3 Million Downloads

Apple’s Mountain Lion OS X sale has surpassed 3 million since available on the Apple Store for $20 four days ago. Apple claims on their website that this upgrade for OS X has over 200 new features. We find this upgrade to be worth while with cool features such as changing filename on the menu bar, tweet from notification centre, copy files in screen sharing and more.

System requirements for Mountain Lion:

  • OS X version 10.6.8 (Leopard) or later
  • 2GB of memory
  • 8GB of available disk space

Here are the Macs that qualify for Mountain Lion:

  • iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)>
  • MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
  • MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
  • MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
  • Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
  • Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
  • Xserve (Early 2009)

Apple’s Mountain Lion Out This Wednesday

Apple has announced the next OS X, Mountain Lion, will be out this Wednesday. Apple has previously released the Golden Master build (Build 12A269) of OS X Mountain Lion to developers. It is rumoured that the next OS X Mountain Lion will cost $20.

Apple also reported revenue for the quarter just ended was lower than analysts had expected despite iPad and iPhone sales. Sale of iPhone as dropped 10% during this quarter. This is probably caused by the iPhone gossips where the new iPhone 5 is said to have a new dock connector.
