Samsung Says No To Firefox OS
Samsung is not going to use Firefox OS for their smartphone and tablets. This is due to their success as the most popular Android handset maker and also later on Tizen OS.
Previously we have reported that Mozilla is now ready to launch Firefox OS for smartphones. The non-profit company made the announcement at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Mozilla is partnering with 18 network operators and four handset manufacturers to launch devices running its OS mobile operating system. Alcatel, LG and ZTE will be first to build the first Firefox OS devices, with Huawei to follow later in the year.
The first wave of Firefox devices would go on sale beginning in July in Brazil, Colombia, Hungary, Mexico, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Spain and Venezuela.

Firefox OS For Mobile By 2013
Mozilla Foundation will launch theFirefox operating system, based entirely on HTML 5 and open Web standards in 2013. The new Firefox OS will power the launch of a new breed of smartphones built entirely to meet open Web standards.

Firefox 10 Released
Mozilla has released Firefox 10, the latest iteration of its popular open-source Web browser for Windows, Mac, and Linux machines. Mozilla is committed to release
a new version of the browser every 6 weeks.
What is new in version 10 is how Firefox handles extensions upon auto-updating to the new browser version. Firefox 10 for Android will have multitouch gesture support to the mobile browser.
Firefox 5 Launches
Firefox launches after 3 months Mozilla released Firefox 4. That is quick in replacing a browser version. Mozilla has to play catch up with Google in releasing the next version faster instead of waiting months for it.

Firefox 5 Launching On June 21
According to the Mozilla releases page, Firefox 5 will be released on June 21. Mozilla has to play catch up with Google in releasing the next version faster instead of waiting months for it. At this stage, no new features have been announced yet.
Mozilla Unleashed Firefox 4
Mozilla Firefox 4 is now out and available for download, and within just a few short hours it had been downloaded more than a million times. The Firefox 4 Download Stats site, which can be found at glow.mozilla.org, shows an updating counter.
Firefox 4 features reduced user interface, supports hardware acceleration, faster JaegerMonkey JavaScript engine, a new add-on manager, pinned tabs, syncing of the browsing history and bookmarks with other devices, greater HTML5 support with Form features and a new HTML5 parser, WebGL and SVG compatibility, support for Google’s WebM video format, multi-touch support for Windows 7, integration of Open Type Fonts and separates tab processes just like Google Chrome.
Firefox 4 Out March 22
Firefox RC is now available for download. Due Microsoft IE9 being released, Mozilla is playing catch up with the final release of Firefox 4 next Tuesday on March 22. Check out the features here.
Firefox 3.6 Released – Faster And With New Personality
Mozilla today launched a new revamped website and also released Firefox 3.6 with improve performance and some new features.
The new features are:
- Available in more than 70 languages – get your local version.
- Support for a new type of theme called Personas, which allow users to change Firefox’s appearance with a single click.
- Protection from out-of-date plugins to keep users safer as they browse.
- Open, native video can now be displayed full screen and supports poster frames.
- Improved JavaScript performance, overall browser responsiveness, and startup time.
- The ability for web developers to indicate that scripts should run asynchronously to speed up page load times.
- Continued support for downloadable web fonts using the new WOFF font format.
- Support for new CSS attributes such as gradients, background sizing, and pointer events.
- Support for new DOM and HTML5 specifications including the Drag & Drop API and the File API, which allow for more interactive web pages.
- Changes to how third-party software can integrate with Firefox in order to prevent crashes.
Firefox Turns Five

Mozilla celebrated Firefox’s fifth birthday and Mozilla communities are hosting parties all over the world in a special campaign called “Light the World with Firefox”.
