Wii Super Mario Galaxy 2 Release On May 23

Nintendo Profit Drops 9.4%
Nintendo has announced that their group net profit declined 9.4% April through December due to rising yen and price cuts. Demand for Nintendo Wii is slowing down and Sony’s PS3 is closing the gap.

Nintendo Wii Classic Controller Pro
Nintendo is releasing Wii Classic Controller Pro in the US. It will be included with Monster Hunter Tri or sold separately for $20. Comes in either black or white and the controller connects to the Wii Remote.
Wii Gets Netflix Streaming Video
Nintendo and Netflix will bring streaming movies to yout TV sets via the Wii console. The service will be available this spring. Netflix streaming service will be free to the more than 11.1 million customers who already subscribe to Netflix’s movie rental service.
The downside to the Wii is that it only runs at 480p while XBox 360 and PS3 can run at higher resolution.
Nintendo Wii Sales Slump in Thanksgiving Week

Nintendo U.S. sales of its Wii console during Thanksgiving week slumped after a 20% price reduction for the game console failed to spur demand. Nintendo only sold 550,000 Wiis in the US during the November 22-28 period.
Nintendo Wii has fallen behind Sony’s PS3 and Microsoft’s XBox 360.
Nintendo Wii Struggling In 2009

Nintendo is hurting and the company reported weaker than expected earnings for its fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 2009. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said, The Wii has stalled. We sensed that the market mood was cooling off in the spring. But frankly, we hadn’t expected to get as bad as it did by summer.

Nintendo Going Larger With DSi XL
Nintendo released the larger DSi XL in Japan which has a bigger screen, stylus and size aiming at the older, vision impaired audience. Colours available in Japan are Red Wine, Dark Brown and White. Japanese release include Flipnote Studio, two Brain Age Express titles and a Japanese dictionary program. The handheld will be available in North America and Europe in Q1 2010.
Nintendo Releases Wii Fit Plus In Japan

Wii Fit Plus sold more than 340,000 copies in its first week on sale. Why is it good? Check out the new features from Nintendo:
- Workouts combine the original Wii Fit activities and selections from 15 new balance games and six new strength training and yoga activities.
- Users can input the amount of time they want to spend on their workouts or select an area for personal improvement, and Wii Fit Plus will suggest a number of diverse activities for them.
- For the first time, users can mix and match which strength and yoga activities they prefer on a given day. The seamless exercise flows make it easier than ever for users to maintain their daily workout routines.
- Users might be asked to run an obstacle course across a series of platforms, zoom across a beach on a Segway® x2 Personal Transporter or flap their arms to help their hilarious chicken-suited characters aim for targets.
- The range of games and customization options will make players want to play every day. They’ll be having so much fun that their workouts will seem to fly by in no time at all.
- Players also can see estimates of calories burned and can even activate a feature that lets them weigh their dogs or cats.
- Wii Fit Plus comes packaged with the Wii Balance Board accessory. For people who already own Wii Fit, the Wii Fit Plus disc will be available for purchase separately.
Wii Price Cut To $199
We have announced this previously and looks like it is correct, the Wii will be slashed to $199 to compete with PS3 and XBox 360. The $50 price cut to the Wii, is effective this Sunday, September 27.
The Wii bundle will be the same with a copy of Wii Sports video game, one controller, a Nunchuk controller add-on and wireless sensor bar.
