Toyota Recalled 2009 Prius Worldwide
Toyota is hit again with another recall of Prius. This time it is the 2009 model and the recall came from faulty specifications. This is for potentially defective steering and water pump system.
Toyota has said it will recall 2.7 million cars worldwide because of these problems.
California Approved Driverless Car On Public Roads
The state of California has taken the first step to the future with Governor Jerry Brown legalised self-driving cars onto public roads. California is the the third US state to approved self-driving car technology, which Google and many automakers are developing.
Governor Brown rode to the signing ceremony at Google Inc headquarters in a driverless Prius modified by Google.
Previously Nevada issued a first license for Google’s self-driving Prius provided there are two people inside the car at all times. The Google modified Prius uses video cameras mounted on the roof, radar sensors and a laser range finder to look out for traffic.

Toyota Priced Plug In Prius
Toyota has just released the US pricing for the Prius Plug-In Hybrid. Starting price for entry level is $32,000. Prius Plug-In Hybrid Advances retails at $39,525. The Levinton 16 Amp, Level 2 charging station for $999, starting from early next month. The Prius plug-in hybrid will be offered in 14 western and East Coast state.
Google Self-driving Prius Crashed Due To Human Error
Google’s self-driving Prius crashed near Google Headquarters due to human error when it was driven manually.

Safety is our top priority. One of our goals is to prevent fender-benders like this one, which occurred while a person was manually driving the car.
This Google project is aimed at creating less traffic accidents and improving transportation safety and productivity.
Toyota Partnered With Microsoft With Smart Car
Microsoft and Toyota is working together to create a in-car technology connected to the Internet via Microsoft’s services, allowing people to monitor and control their electric and hybrid Toyotas from their homes and in the car.
Toyota is looking to deploy its Microsoft’s Azure platform powered telematics system across its 2012 fleet of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The car company giant will establish a global cloud platform within three years.

Before the update, your Brake ECU software version will most likely be F152647103 (or something similar), and after the update it will be F152647106. The official name for the update is SSC-A0B.
Toyota Prius To Get Charging Station In Japan
Toyota has announced that it’s been developing solar charging stations for its new Prius models. The stations will be tested at Toyota City in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, where 21 stations will be built across 11 locales including government offices and train depots.
