Microsoft Released Office 2011 Service Pack 1
Microsoft has released the 14.1 update for Office 2011 for Mac. The patch includes security fixes, bug fixes, and other changes and improvements for Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word. Some of the highlights are install the Solver analysis tool in Excel, add password protection to Powerpoint presentations and add in alt text for objects such as shapes, pictures, tables, charts, SmartArt, and movies. Added e-mail, contact, and calendar application to Mac Sync services for Outlook.
Office 2011 Service Pack 1 is available via Microsoft’s AutoUpdate software or as a 246MB download from Microsoft’s Office for Mac site.
Microsoft Releasing Windows 7 SP1 In Early 2011
A newly published Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document on the Microsoft TechNet site indicates that Microsoft will release Windows 7 Service Pack 1 in 2011.
