Check out the announcement teaser for Sony’s next generation Playstation 4. Sony is said to unveil the next PS4 game console on February 20, a date that would give the Japanese electronics company a head start over Microsoft’s expected announcement of an Xbox 360 successor in June.
Industry sources indicated that Sony and Microsoft is holding back in releasing new consoles, PS4 and XBox 720, until 2014. While Nintendo is going to pushed out their next generation console, Wii 2 this June. Sony is rumoured to ditched the DualShock controller for new features like a touchscreen and biometric sensors.
UK Fine Sony For Preventable PSN Hack
United Kingdom authorities have fined Sony $396K for a widespread 2011 PlayStation Network data breach, a breach that could have been prevented.

Following a criminal cyberattack on the company’s data-center located in San Diego, California, U.S.A., Sony Network Entertainment International quickly turned off the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services, engaged multiple expert information security firms over the course of several days and conducted an extensive audit of the system. The intrusion was discovered between April 17 and 19, and the PlayStation Network was taken down on April 20. On April 26, Sony notified the owners of 10 million accounts that their personal information, potentially including credit card information, had been compromised in the attack.
Sony Releasing Super Slim Red And Blue PS3
Sony has already released a brand new smaller and lighter PlayStation 3 model end of 2012. The model is 50% lighter than the fat version and 20% lighter than the current slim version. Now Sony has announced that they will release a super slim PS3 in blue and red variety in 2013.
The 250GB Super Slim PS3 will be available in Azurite Blue and Garnet Red. Each is priced at ¥24,980 (US$279).
Sony Launches Xperia Tablet Thinner Than iPad Mini
Sony has revealed a new Android tablet, the Xperia Tablet Z. The 10.1 inch tablet features a 1920 x 1200 screen, Qualcomm 1.5GHz quad-core APQ8064 processor, 6000mAh lithium polymer battery, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, 8.1-megapixel camera, NFC, LTE, and a microSD expansion slot.
The tablet is only 6.9mm thick and weights 495g. That’s slimmer than the iPad mini by 0.3mm.

Sony Show Off World’s First 4K OLED TV
LG has announced details of its highly-anticipated 55-inch OLED TV. But it is Sony that unveils the world first 4K OLED TV which cost $12,000.
The 4mm thick Sony 4K OLED TV features 55-inch screen, four-color pixel system, color refiner and infinite contrast ratio and weighs less than 22 pounds.
Sony Killing Off PlayStation 2
Sony is discontinuing its PlayStation 2 (PS2) console and the company has stopped the shipments of PS2 in Japan from this week. PS2 is officially lasted for 13 years, the console sold over 1 million units over the past one year, especially across developing countries like India and Brazil.

PlayStation 4 Revealed
Sony is not probably going to release the next gen PlayStation 4 until 2014 but we do have the features of the gaming console.
Playstation 4, codename Orbis, will feature 4K resolution, AMD chipset, 4Gb to 8Gb Ram, 6Gb flash memory, not be backwards compatible with PS3 games, games need to be registered to PlayStation Network account and 1080p at 60 fps will be the standard for all games under P4.
Sony Released Reader App For iOS
Sony finally launched its own Reader app on iOS for iPad and iPhone devices. The app let you access all books purchased through the Sony Reader store, or even those contained within a Sony Reader library.
DRM books purchased for Sony Reader will allow users to read those books from any iOS device running version 4.3 or later.
