The first Microsoft Surface tablets, due by October 26, will run NVidia RT chipset which does not run old Windows software that businesses rely on. Now you can with Intel’s new Clover Trail system-on-chip (SoC). It is a dual-core 1.8GHz processor also known as Atom Z2760 and will help tablets to achieve 9 hours battery life for HD video playback, 10 hours of “active use” and three weeks when in standby.
Intel adds that tablets running this chipset will support 3G and 4G cellular connectivity as well as near-field communication (NFC), support an “advanced” camera (up to 8MP) and a secondary snapper (up to 2.1MP).
