Microsoft Released SmartGlass App For Android And XBox 360

Microsoft has released the SmartGlass integration for Android users. The app allows user to have direct control of some console features from Google-powered gear. The Android port lets users move through the Dashboard, input text, browse the web, search for local content, and control media playback.

Microsoft also released the XBox SmartGlass. This app will be free and will essentially turn tablets, phones and PCs into a second screen for your TV and XBox 360.

Microsoft XBox SmartGlass app allow users to control and stream media content to their Xbox 360 via their handheld devices for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. This is similar to Apple’s AirPlay technology. Gamers will be able to use their iPad, iPhone and Android devices to access XBox.

Looks like Microsoft beat Nintendo to it with SmartGlass trumping the Wii U. Both has similar features but Microsoft SmartGlass can talk to more devices such as the iPad and Android phone.

The SmartGlass is not just for games, it can be used to watch movies and tv.

Microsoft will be releasing the XBox SmartGlass on October 26 which is the same day Windows 8 and Surface will be released. This app will be free and will essentially turn tablets, phones and PCs into a second screen for your TV and XBox 360.

Microsoft Released Windows Phone Badges For Developers

Developers can now download new virtual badges from Microsoft for developing Windows Phone apps. The new design comes in 3 resolutions (125 x 40; 208 x 67; and 376 x 120) and two colours (blue and black).

What you won’t see with the new Windows Phone Store badge is a multitude of localized Download Now images, for all the different markets where Windows Phone apps are available. Instead, the new badge has the clean and simple shopping bag icon customers see in the Windows Phone Store and the Windows Store to indicate that your app is ready to purchase and download.

Nokia and Microsoft unveiled their first high-speed Windows Phone for AT&T at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012. The Lumia 900 which generated considerable buzz at at the show could arrive on March 18,

Nokia’s Lumia 900 “Ace” will feature aa 1.4 GHz processor, 4.3 inch AMOLED clear black display, an 8 MP camera paired with a front facing secondary camera, and the same 1.4 GHz processor that powers the current top end Lumia 800. It will come in black and cyan and will run on AT&T’s 4G LTE network.

Nokia and Microsoft unveiled their first high-speed Windows Phone for AT&T at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

Nokia’s Lumia 900 “Ace” will feature a 4.3 inch ClearBlack display, an 8 MP camera paired with a front facing secondary camera, and the same 1.4 GHz processor that powers the current top end Lumia 800.

The Lumia 900 will be available in the coming months exclusively from AT&T.

The Lumia 800 features 16GB storage, a single core 1.4Ghz processor, 3.7″ display that curves seamlessly into its polycarbonate body, an 8-megapixel rear camera, no front-facing camera, and the device will record HD video in 720p.
